My Story
I started my career working as a child and youth worker in a group home for kids with aggression and behavioural issues. After several years working with these amazing kids I learnt how resilient and capable any individual can be, no matter their hardship. After leaving the group home I began to work as an addictions counsellor in a long-term addiction rehab facility. This career took me across Ontario where I would complete assessments on inmates in both federal and provincial jails/prisons, to asses their eligibility to attend the rehab facility either upon release, or as a part of parole/probation. I became one of the Senior Addictions Therapists and began to supervise the Addiction Supportive Housing program before I was offered an amazing job working in mental health at the Scarborough Health Network - Centenary Hospital. I spent 10 years working with those struggling with acute mental illness in their outpatient Day Hospital Program and was fortunate enough to have completed my masters degree through the Shoniker Clinic working with adolescents, reigniting my passion for working with youth. My experience, passion and training make me an excellent therapist for anyone who looking for a strengths based approach, solutions focused therapy from an ACT, DBT or CBT modality.
